Saba Capital Management, L.P. (“Saba”) is a global alternative asset management firm that seeks to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns. Founded in 2009 by Boaz Weinstein, Saba is best known for having pioneered a number of credit relative value and capital structure trading strategies.
For more than a decade, Saba’s senior members have worked together and have been at the forefront of hedging tail risk and arbitraging dislocations between bonds, loans, structured credit and derivatives across capital structures and term structures.
Saba seeks to profit from dislocations between credit and equity instruments and deliver convex returns, particularly in volatile markets. The firm currently manages three core strategies: Credit Relative Value, Tail Hedge and Closed-End Funds.
Saba’s investors are predominantly institutions and include corporate pensions, public pensions, foundations, fund of funds, endowments and family offices. Saba is 100% employee-owned.
Saba is headquartered in the historic Chrysler Building in New York and also maintains an office in London. Saba is registered with the SEC and CFTC.
Saba is a spin-out of one of the largest proprietary groups in the industry, ‘Saba Principal Strategies,’ which was founded by Boaz Weinstein at Deutsche Bank in 1998. Before launching Saba, Boaz Weinstein was the co-head of the Global Credit Trading business at Deutsche Bank, where he managed a team of approximately 650 people.
